Consider the transition from school
Allow time for the journey, changing and getting ready for the session. Tell the team the earliest time your child can reliably arrive. A class that begins too close to school dismissal may be difficult to attend even when the court is nearby.
Balance the week before increasing sessions
List schoolwork, other activities and family commitments. Discuss a schedule the child can repeat, and ask the academy what attendance the proposed group expects. More sessions are not automatically a better choice when the routine becomes hard to sustain.
Agree on communication and collection
Ask who to contact if the child will be late or absent, and clarify collection arrangements. Share the player’s age and experience when enquiring. After a few sessions, discuss how the child is settling into the group and what the next learning goal should be.
