Describe experience accurately
Tell the team if you are completely new to the sport or have attended a supervised class previously. Ask how new participants are introduced to the venue and which group is appropriate. Avoid assuming that experience in another sport establishes readiness for this program.
Look for a clear introductory process
Ask who leads the class, what the first visit covers and how a participant can ask for clarification. ISSF’s introductory course outline includes safety and foundations of the sport. Confirm the local academy’s own teaching arrangements rather than treating a general course outline as proof of its services. Read the governing body’s background guidance →
Understand what you are committing to
Check session frequency, duration, eligibility and fees. Ask whether equipment use is included and whether an introductory visit is available. This guide is for choosing a class, not for practising independently or learning equipment operation from written instructions.
